Education: Prof. Qiu received bachelor’s degree from University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 2005, Hefei, China; and Doctor’s degree in 2010 from State Key Lab of Robotics, Shenyang Institute of Automation (SIA), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Shenyang, China.

Research Interests: Agricultural robotics, environmental perception, autonomous navigation, high-throughput phenotyping robots, and robotic manipulation.

Prof. Qiu serves as the Full Professor in College of Intelligent Science and Engineering at Beijing University of Agriculture since 2024. He has served successfully as the Research Associate Professor and Director of Agricultural Robotics Lab at Research Center of Intelligent Equipment, Beijing Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences, Beijing, China, from 2010 to 2021.

Prof. Qiu serves as the PI for 1 on-going teaching research project funded by Beijing Municipal Commission and 8 finished scientific research projects, listed as below:

Prof. Qiu also serves as an Associate Editor for Journal of Field Robotics from October 2021 till now, the reviewer for several top journals, such as TIE, IEEE TM, IEEE THMS, COMPAG, Frontiers of Plant Sciences, Plant MethodsRemote Sensing, Advances in Manufacturing. He also serves as the reviewer for top conferences of robotics, including ICRA and IROS.
