With focus on the nature and laws of development changes in rural areas around major cities, the team mainly studies urban-rural integrated development, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development, suburban economy of the capital, ecological economy in mountainous areas, rural collective economy, beautiful countryside construction, and rural governance. It undertakes tasks such as formulating strategic plans for rural revitalization in Beijing, and recuperation plans for farmland, rivers and lakes in Beijing, developing a standard system for rural revitalization, carrying out evaluations on rural governance, assessing the effectiveness of the implementation of Beijing's agriculture-related laws and regulations, and providing theoretical support and policy advice for the development of rural areas in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. In 2021, the team undertook 11 vertical and horizontal projects of various types, with RMB 1.69 million of project funding newly received. In 2021, team members published 25 academic papers, including one CSSCI paper with an impact factor of 7.261. In 2021, Ms. Liu Xiaobing was promoted to Professor. Ms. Tian Shumin and Ms. Xiao Hongbo were appointed as Director of the China Society of Forestry, Animal Husbandry and Fishery Economics, and Ms. Xiao Hongbo was also the Deputy Secretary-General of the Animal Husbandry Economics Committee, China Society of Forestry, Animal Husbandry and Fishery Economics.
