Mr. Scott Dewar, Australian Ambassador to China, made the opening remarks. He noted that women have long been a pivotal force in the long industrial chain of agriculture that extends from farm to table – they are not only frontline participants, but also game-changing leaders, innovation-driving pioneers, and community builders that foster consensus. He expressed his delight in gathering with all attendees to pay tribute to women in the agriculture and food sectors of China and Australia. Subsequently, Ms. Nornie Bero, Founder and CEO of Mabu Mabu, a food business, shared stories about idigenous Australian culture and food.

During the discussion session, Professor Wu Yan had in-depth exchanges with H.E. Mr. Scott Dewar and Ms. Veronica Walker, First Secretary for Education at the Australian Embassy, among others. She introduced BUA's international cooperation and the progress of its cooperation with Australian universities and colleges, highlighting BUA's 14-year partnership with Edith Cowan University and the achievements in bilateral talent development. She added that the two universities will renew the joint education agreement in 2026, to further deepen cooperation in program optimization, teaching resource sharing, and other areas and open up a new chapter of bilateral collaboration.

Going forward, BUA will continue to strengthen cooperation and exchanges with Australian universities and colleges. Guided by the strategic objectives set under the "Global Strategic Partnership Program", BUA will pursue long-term cooperation mechanisms and serve as a staunch promoter of China-Australia collaboration in agriculture and education.
