I. Personal information

Qingjun Chen, native of Xinjiang, Professor, Master and Doctoral Supervisor.

Graduated from Horticulture Major, Xinjiang August First Agricultural College (now Xinjiang Agricultural University) in 1984 and stayed for teaching.Obtained Master of Agriculture degree from Xinjiang Agricultural University in 1997.Studied as a visiting scholar in the Laboratory of Bio-Environmental Engineering, the University of Tokyo, Japan for one year in 1998.Graduated with a doctoral degree in Bio-Environment and Energy Engineering from China Agricultural University in 2000.Engaged in postdoctoral research at China Academy of Agricultural Sciences in 2001.Served as a teacher in College of Plant Science and Technology, Beijing University of Agriculture since 2003.Executive Director of Beijing Edible Fungi Association, Post Expert of Beijing Edible Fungi Innovation Team of Modern Agricultural Industry Technology System, and School-level Supervisor of Beijing University of Agriculture.

II. Research interests

Basic research on industrialized high-efficiency cultivation of protected edible fungi, and research on theoretical and technical system of woodland edible fungi cultivation as well as sightseeing and picking.

III. Research Projects

Presided over multiple research projects including the sub-project of the 12th Five-Year National Science and Technology Support Program Integration and Demonstration of Circular Agricultural Industry Technology in Suburbs of Beijing — Circular Fungal Industry of Agricultural and Animal Husbandry Waste Resources, Research on Key Technologies of Industrial Off-season Cultivation of Agaricus bisporus, Demonstration and Transformation of Key Technologies of Under-forest Economy, Production and Key Technology Demonstration of Industrial Compost for Agaricus bisporus Based on Local Hemp Stalk Materials, and Research and Demonstration on Recycling Technology of Pleurotus eryngii Residue for Cultivating Volvariella volvacea and Agaricus bisporus.

IV. Major Achievements

1. Published more than 40 academic papers, participated in compiling 6 textbooks and monographs, and obtained 3 patents.

2. Won 1 Beijing Science and Technology Package Project Award, 1 Second Prize of Beijing Science and Technology Award, 1 Third Prize of Beijing Agricultural Technology Extension Award.

3. Awarded honorary titles such as "Caring Expert" in Beijing Poverty Alleviation and Disability Assistance Science and Technology Service, "Lei Feng Activity Model" of Beijing Municipal Education Working Committee, and "Beinong Model" of Beijing University of Agriculture.
