I. Personal information

Prof. Guo is the coordinator of the International Animal Recording Committee in China, a member of the Expert Committee of the National Beef Cattle Breed Genetic Improvement Program, one of the executive members of the Cattle Branch of the Chinese Association of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, and secretary-general of the  Professional Committee for Animal Recording of the National Animal Husbandry Science and Technology Innovation Alliance.

Jinjin Tong, Ph.D, Associate Professor, Master’s Supervisor.
Faculty member at the College of Animal Science and Technology, Beijing University of Agriculture (BUA). Dr. Tong is a council member of the Veterinary Surgery Branch of the Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine and a member of the Animal Nutrition Branch of the same association. She serves as a peer reviewer for the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and several international journals, including Animal Nutrition and International Journal of Biological Macromolecules. Her research focuses on animal nutrition and health, functional natural products, and chitosan-based biomaterials for disease prevention and control. She has led multiple national and provincial research projects, including NSFC-funded programs, and has published over 40 peer-reviewed papers in high-impact journals.

II. Research interests

Animal nutrition and health, regulation of gut microbiota and metabolic homeostasis, and development of functional natural products and chitosan-based biomaterials for disease prevention and control.

Her research also focuses on the application of plant-derived bioactive compounds and nanotechnology-based delivery systems in livestock and companion animals, with an emphasis on improving immune function, mitigating oxidative stress, and promoting sustainable and antibiotic-free farming strategies.

III. Research Projects

She has presided over several national and provincial research projects, among which the most important are:

1. National Natural Science Foundation of China (General Program): Mechanisms of chitosan nanoparticles in alleviating periparturient mammary oxidative stress in dairy cows via the Nrf2–ARE signaling pathway (2023–2026).

2. National Natural Science Foundation of China (Young Scientists Fund): Regulatory effects and molecular mechanisms of chitooligosaccharide hydrogels on mammary immune function during the dry period in dairy cows (2018–2020).

3. China Postdoctoral Science Foundation (64th General Program): Mechanistic study on MAPK/NF-κB signaling pathway in regulating mammary gland remodeling during the dry period of dairy cows (2019–2021).

4. China Postdoctoral International Exchange Program (Academic Exchange Project) (2019–2020).

5. Beijing Postdoctoral Research Foundation: Regulation of MAPK/NF-κB signaling pathway by chitooligosaccharide hydrogels in the mammary gland of dairy cows during the dry period (2018–2020).
