I. Personal information

Xihui Sheng, Ph.D., Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, Beijing Nova Program Awardee. Principal Investigator (PI) in Animal Genetics, Breeding and Reproduction, the College of Animal Science and Technology, Beijing University of Agriculture (BUA).

Prof. Sheng is a Council Member of the Animal Genetics and Breeding Branch of the Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine (CAAV), an Executive Council Member of the Beijing Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine, and an Expert Member of the Beijing Biological Seed Industry Innovation Consortium.

II. Research interests

Genetic mechanism and breeding technology research on important economic traits of Chinese indigenous poultry breeds (e.g., Beijing-You Chicken, Pekin Duck).

III. Research Projects

She has presided over more than 10 national, provincial and ministerial projects, among which the most important are:

1. “Breeding and Multiplication of New Varieties and Strains of Meat-Type Waterfowl” under the National Key Research and Development Program of China（2023YFD1300301）
