I. Personal information

Yang Liu, Ph.D., Lecturer, Master’s Supervisor, Member of the Communist Party of China. Born in Hunyuan, Shanxi Province.Graduated from Shanxi Agricultural University (Horticulture) with a B.S. in Agriculture in 2015.Graduated from Beijing University of Agriculture (Pomology) with an M.S. in Agriculture in 2018.Graduated from Beijing Forestry University (Silviculture, majoring in Fruit Tree Cultivation and Utilization) with a Ph.D. in Agriculture in 2022.Joined Department of Horticulture, College of Plant Science and Technology, Beijing University of Agriculture in 2023.

II. Research interests

Innovation and utilization of fruit tree germplasm resources.

III. Research Projects

Presided over 1 project of National Natural Science Foundation of China, 1 Scientific Research Project of Beijing Municipal Commission of Education, 1 Youth Faculty Research Innovation Promotion Project of Beijing University of Agriculture.Participated in 3 projects including National Key R&D Program and National Natural Science Foundation of China.

IV. Major Achievements

Focused on chestnut genomics, floral sex regulation, internal rot control and fruit tree breeding.Published more than 10 papers as first author, including 5 SCI papers.Authorized 1 national invention patent.Developed 6 new chestnut varieties including Beinong Bingli, Beinong Jianfeng and Beinong Zaofeng.Won the Second Prize of 2023 Shennong China Agricultural Science and Technology Progress Award (11th participant).
