On September 10, 1956, as autumn set in
the predecessor of BUA - Tongxian Agricultural School of Hebei Province
opened on the temporary campus at Xijiao Farm in Shijiazhuang

BUA grandly held the 41st Teachers' Day Celebration
& Commendation Meeting
calling on over 1,100 faculty and staff members
to forge teaching excellence with the spirit of educators

In 1958, Tongxian Agricultural School of Hebei Province
merged with Beijing Agricultural Cooperative Cadre School
and was renamed Beijing Agricultural School
further expanding its scale

based on Beijing Agricultural School,
Beijing Agricultural Labor University, one that combines agricultural work with academic studies, was established

attended and addressed the opening ceremony
In 1978, upon the approval of the State Council
the university was renamed Beijing University of Agriculture (BUA)
