The 11th National College Students Skiing Challenge (Finals), hosted by the Chinese Student Sports Federation and organized by the Jilin Provincial Department of Education, was held recently. More than 300 athletes from 11 provinces and 39 colleges and universities across the country competed fiercely in seven individual and team events in alpine skiing giant slalom and snowboard parallel giant slalom. Our university's skiing team stood out in the North China Division with its excellent performance, and won the fourth place in the total score of the snowboard parallel giant slalom group A and the sixth place in the total score of the group A in the finals.
It is reported that, as the final event of the 2024-2025 National School Ice and Snow Sports Series, this year's competition was divided into the Northeast and North China divisions. Since December 2024, the event has attracted over 600 teachers and students from 58 colleges and universities. After a rigorous selection process, more than 300 participants from 39 colleges and universities advanced to the finals.
Under the careful guidance of the team leaders Liu Junzhan and Lu Hejiang, the skiing team of our university demonstrated remarkable perseverance and self-breakthrough, achieving excellent results in multiple events. The following six students, Chai Ge from the College of Plant Science and Technology, Cai Ziwen from the College of Animal Science and Technology, Lin Zifu and Li Ruixun from the College of Economics and Management, Hao Zimeng from the College of Landscape Architecture, and Yang Jian from the College of International Education won the fourth place in the total score of the snowboard parallel giant slalom group A. The following 8 students, Zhang Yihan from the College of Bioscience and Resources Environment, Cai Ziwen from the College of Animal Science and Technology, Lin Zifu and Li Ruixun from the College of Economics and Management, Lu Zijun and Hao Zimeng from the College of Landscape Architecture, Yang Zhanbin from the College of Food Science and Engineering, and Yang Wenyue from the College of Humanities and Urban-Rural Development, secured the sixth place in the total score of the group A.
