China Scholarship Council (CSC) recently announced the list of projects under the 2026 Rural Revitalization Talent Training Program. Two project submitted by BUA, including the "International Talent Training Project for Rural Revitalization in Plant Health and Eco-Environmental Security", and the renewed "International Talent Training Project for Rural Revitalization in the Grape and Wine Industry", were approved for implementation. To date, four projects of BUA have been included into the Rural Revitalization Talent Training Program hosted by CSC, expected to inject new impetus into BUA's endeavors to further cultivate international talents and support China's rural revitalization strategy and foreign-related agriculture.

The newly approved "International Talent Training Project for Rural Revitalization in Plant Health and Eco-Environmental Security" focuses on serving green agricultural development and eco-environmental security, and aims to cultivate interdisciplinary rural revitalization talents with an international perspective and proficiency in plant health management and cutting-edge ecological protection technologies. The program will run for three years, with three master's degree candidates under joint education programs and one visiting scholar to be selected each year for academic exchanges lasting 3-12 months at overseas partner institutions, including Edith Cowan University (Australia), Poznań University of Life Sciences (Poland), Lincoln University (New Zealand), and the Lincoln Campus of the Agricultural Research Institute of New Zealand. Over the three-year span, the program will fund a total of 12 participants with a financial support of more than RMB1 million, contributing to the training of core talents for China's agricultural ecological protection and plant health industry.

The "International Talent Training Project for Rural Revitalization in the Grape and Wine Industry" is a continuation of BUA's first rural revitalization project approved by CSC in 2022. Since approval of the project, nine master's degree candidates and three visiting scholars have been dispatched to overseas partner institutions for exchanges and studies. Focusing on the needs for talents across the entire grape and wine industry chain, the project, based on the international joint training model, has delivered a number of professional talents with both international perspectives and practical capabilities to the industry, providing strong support for the upgrading of rural characteristic industries.

The re-approval of the "International Talent Training Project for Rural Revitalization in the Grape and Wine Industry" is a testament to CSC's recognition of the project's remarkable achievements. The project has a three-year span, with three master's degree candidates and one visiting scholar sent to overseas partner institutions, including Lincoln University (New Zealand), Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (New Zealand), and Harper Adams University (UK), for studies and exchanges ranging from 3-12 months. Over the three years, the program will fund 12 participants with more than RMB1 million, expected to train backbone talents to drive the internationalization of China's wine industry.

BUA will steadily advance the Global Strategic Partnership Program, fully implement the CSC's Rural Revitalization Talent Training Program, and see that all dispatched members will return with enhanced expertise and apply what they learn to rural vitalization endeavors, contributing their wisdom and strength to rural development, construction, and governance.
