During November 15-20, at the invitation of relevant universities and research institutes in Italy and France, a BUA delegation, led by President Duan Liusheng, paid a visit to Sacred Heart University in Italy, as well as the Institute of Vine and Wine Science of the University of Bordeaux and the Ruminant Research Institute of L'institut Agro in France. The move is part of the efforts to push forward BUA's Global Strategic Partnership Program, and accelerate the building of BUA toward a domestically first-class and internationally renowned high-level applied university with urban agriculture and forestry characteristics.

The delegation briefed the visited universities and institutes about BUA's basic information, educational characteristics, achievements made in recent years in terms of discipline building, talent cultivation, scientific research, and commercialization of research outcomes, as well as ongoing moves taken to drive international cooperation and communication and push forward BUA's Global Strategic Partnership Program. Both sides engaged in heated discussions, delving into ways of cooperation on the application for international scientific research projects, development of joint laboratories, cultivation of high-caliber talents, and further teacher and student exchanges, and reaching a series of consensuses on how to deepen pragmatic cooperation and promote high-quality development.

During the visit, the delegation gained a deep knowledge of the development of disciplines and specialties related to animal science and food science, as well as the scientific research progress of the visited universities and institutes. They also visited the research centers, key laboratories, bases, and stations of these universities and institutes. On behalf of BUA, the delegation signed a cooperation agreement with the Sacred Heart University, and a tripartite cooperation agreement with the University of Bordeaux and L'institut Agro. Additionally, the delegation made a visit to Maca Farm, a typical case of urban agriculture, learning better about the advanced experience in urban animal husbandry and urban dairy industry in Rome. The visit laid a foundation for further expanding BUA's cooperation with the universities and research institutes in Italy and France, and injected new momentum into the development of BUA's international cooperation and exchange initiatives.

Members of the delegation also included Zhang Hongxing, Dean of the College of Food Science and Engineering, Yan Tingyu, Director of the Academic Affairs Office, and Guo Kaijun from the College of Animal Science and Technology.
