From October 29 to 30, 2025, a delegation led by Kate Neame, Director Demand Management of Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT) in New Zealand, visited the University. Vice President Wu Yan met with the delegation. Following the meeting, the delegation visited the College of Bioscience and Resource Environment and the College of Food Science and Engineering to discuss the "3+1 Bachelor's Dual Degree Program" and the "3+1+MAM (Applied Management) Combined Bachelor's and Master's Program." They also exchanged views on the particulars of the cooperation.

Wu Yan reviewed the history of friendship between the two institutions, noting that the collaboration has been solid and profound through platforms such as the "3+1" dual degree program, the "3+1 + Applied Management" undergraduate-master's combined program, and talent development programs related to Rural Revitalization supported by the China Scholarship Council (CSC). She also mentioned the great results achieved by more than 30 BUA faculty members and students who studied at NMIT. The two institutions' shared focus on cultivating application-oriented talent provides a solid foundation and clear direction for this partnership, which is expected to deepen, materialize, and yield significant results.

After thanking the host's warm reception, Kate Neame said, "the cooperation between our two universities not only aligns with the trend of the times but will also help to achieve mutual success through resource complementation." She particularly looks forward to deepening cooperation, using joint talent cultivation as a bond and scientific research collaboration as a breakthrough point, to yield more fruitful results that benefit the faculty, the students, and the industry.

The College of Food Science and Engineering and the College of Bioscience and Resource Environment each held a meeting with the NMIT delegation, where they talked about how to deepen cooperation on joint talent development programs, aiming to optimize and upgrade the two core collaborative projects.
