The winners of the Eighth Beijing Showcase and Exchange of Educators' Stories, themed "Educating for the Party, Cultivating Talent for the Nation: Working Together to Nurture a New Generation for a Strong Education System," have been announced. The event was guided by the Ministry of Education and The Chinese Society of Education, organized by the Education Commission of Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Beijing Municipal Education Commission. Wang Xiaotong of the College of Humanities and Urban-Rural Development won First Prize for her story, From "A Good Class" to "Supporting Student Growth," while Li Xiaoshun of the College of Intelligent Science and Engineering won Second Prize for his educational story, Party Building Drives Digital Innovation to Empower Agriculture and Rural Development.

Wang Xiaotong shared a heartfelt story of how she has moved from designing and refining effective classroom teaching to supporting her students throughout their growth. Deeply committed to teaching, she developed an innovative "guide, empower and consolidate" approach to classroom instruction. After extensive refinement, the approach helped her win First Prize in the 14th Beijing College Young Teachers' Basic Teaching Skills Competition. She has led students into rural communities for field research, helping them discover the value of their academic training through firsthand experience. She also pays close attention to her students' personal and academic development, offering patient guidance to those preparing for postgraduate entrance examinations and supporting their aspirations through trust and companionship. When students struggle to move forward, she stays by their side. When they lose their way, she offers thoughtful guidance. And when they have grown strong enough to spread their wings, she knows when to step back and give them the freedom to pursue their own paths. As she puts it, she hopes to remain a "person who flies kites on campus," supporting young people as they carry their knowledge and ideals toward a wider sky.

Li xiaoshun shared his experience of "Party building driving digital innovation to empower agriculture and rural development. As secretary of the College's graduate student Party branch, he has led the branch in providing technology services in Puwa Township, Fangshan District, for six consecutive years. Their work has focused on environmental monitoring, smart irrigation, smart beekeeping and other areas, using digital and intelligent technologies to inject new momentum into traditional agriculture. At Huangshandian Village, the faculty-and-student team carried forward the spirit of the "Red Backpack" tradition by applying its commitment to serving the people to the digital transformation of rural communities. They developed a "Digital Village" model that harnesses digital and intelligent technologies to support rural development, helping the village increase its income by 1.55 million RMB. The initiative has since been promoted across Beijing as a model for digital village development. Li said that he hopes to continue being the "Brother Shun" who stands alongside students as they overcome setbacks, contributing his knowledge and expertise to the cultivation of a new generation through collaborative education and to the advancement of rural revitalization.

As a signature education initiative in Beijing, the Beijing Showcase and Exchange of Educators' Stories has been held for eight consecutive editions. Over the past eight years, the event has continued to evolve while remaining true to its original mission, becoming an important platform for advancing the city's efforts to strengthen ideological and political education and to showcase the dedication and professionalism of educators in the new era. This year's event was launched in April. The BUA CPC Committee attached great importance to the initiative and organized story-sharing and selection activities at both the university and college levels. On June 26, BUA held its own Stories of Educating and Inspiring Students event, highlighting the sense of responsibility, professional ethics and educational wisdom of its faculty and inspiring teachers to uphold the spirit of educators and contribute actively to building a strong education system.

The award-winning teachers said they will, under the strong leadership of the BUA CPC Committee, continue to uphold the spirit of educators and remain committed to the mission of educating for the Party and cultivating talent for the nation. With fostering virtue as the foundation and strengthening agriculture and advancing agricultural development as their responsibility, they will work to cultivate more new-generation professionals who understand, care about and are committed to agriculture, making new and greater contributions to the high-quality development of the university.
