Recently, the national finals of the Fourth National Competition for University Students on Planning and Design for Value Enhancement of Rural Territorial Space were held at Northwest A&F University. Teams from the College of Bioscience and Resources Environment of BUA distinguished themselves among participants from more than 100 universities nationwide through their solid professional expertise, innovative design concepts, and planning proposals closely aligned with the practical needs of rural development. They were awarded one National Grand Prize and two National First Prizes. BUA was also recognized as an Outstanding Organization, while Professor Liu Yun received the title of Outstanding Supervisor, fully demonstrating the comprehensive strength of BUA's related disciplines and the high quality of its talent cultivation.

Jointly organized by the China Society of Territorial Economists, Northwest A&F University, and the Shaanxi Association for Science and Technology, this year's competition was closely aligned with China's Rural Revitalization Strategy. The competition focused on four key themes: rural territorial spatial optimization, ecological conservation and restoration, upgrading of characteristic rural industries, and the preservation and inheritance of local culture. It aimed to encourage students to apply their professional knowledge and expertise to support rural development. The competition officially commenced in November 2025 and established 11 provincial divisions, attracting participation from more than 100 universities and over 500 teams nationwide. Following rigorous selection processes across the regional divisions, 59 outstanding teams advanced to the national finals. The judging panel, composed of industry experts, university scholars, and practicing planners, conducted comprehensive evaluations based on multiple criteria, including conceptual design, field investigation, technical application, implementation feasibility, and on-site presentations. With its rigorous and well-structured assessment standards, the competition has become one of the most influential and prestigious academic contests in the field of rural planning in China.
