On September 25, the International Symposium on High-Quality Development of Sustainable Animal Husbandry, guided by the Collaborative Innovation Alliance of Agricultural and Forestry Universities and Colleges in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region and hosted by BUA, was held in the Lecture Hall of BUA Library. Experts and scholars from domestic and foreign universities and research institutions, including the Ulm University (Germany), the University of Turin (Italy), the European Livestock Diagnosis Center (ELDC) (the Netherlands), as well as the China Agricultural University, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences, the Tianjin Agricultural University, the Hebei Agricultural University, and the Inner Mongolia Agricultural University, gathered at the site. Centering on the theme of "Intelligence · Innovation · Collaboration: Jointly Building a New Ecosystem for High-Quality Development of Sustainable Animal Husbandry", the attendees held in-depth discussions on the new paths for the transformation and development of the animal husbandry industry.

At the opening ceremony of the symposium, Professor Laura Gasco from the University of Turin, also Chair of the Insects Branch of the European Association for Animal Production, Dr. Wim Schielen, General Manager of the ELDC, as well as Cao Zhijun, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of BUA, and Professor Guo Kaijun from the College of Animal Science and Technology of BUA, jointly unveiled the plaque for the "BUA-ELDC China-EU Smart Breeding Joint Research Center". This marks the start of a new stage in China-Europe cooperation on smart breeding.

The Chinese and foreign experts and scholars conducted in-depth discussions centering on five themes, namely "one health", "international cooperation", "smart farming", "animal nutrition", and "biological breeding". As part of the event, the Graduate Student Forum offered a high-quality platform for the academic exchanges among young scholars.


At the closing ceremony, the key takeaways of the symposium were systematically summarized, and certificates were awarded to the outstanding participants in the Graduate Student Forum.
