In order to promote the "BUA Global Strategic Partnership Initiative" and step up efforts to build a domestic first-class and internationally renowned high-level applied university with urban agriculture and forestry characteristics, at the invitation of relevant colleges and institutions in Belgium and the Netherlands, Duan Liusheng, President of the BUA, led a delegation to visit the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, the Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech, University of Liege in Belgium and the Wageningen University & Research, and the European Livestock Diagnostic Center in the Netherlands.
The delegation made an introduction of BUA, its academic features, the achievements made in discipline construction, talent training, scientific research in recent years and the current initiatives to fully promote international cooperation and exchanges. The two sides held in-depth discussions and exchanged ideas on jointly training high-quality talents, strengthening mutual visits and exchanges between teachers and students, and jointly applying for international cooperation programs, and reached consensus on deepening pragmatic cooperation and jointly promoting high-quality development.
During the visit, the delegation studied the construction and scientific research of the related disciplines such as plant science, food science, and animal science in the local colleges and institutions, and visited their research centers, key laboratories and base stations. Cooperation agreements were signed between BUA and the Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech, University of Liege, the Wageningen University & Research, and the European Livestock Diagnostic Center.
During the visit to the Wageningen University &Research, the delegation held a special seminar on the university's talent policy. In a discussion with more than 60 postdoctoral fellows, doctoral students and master's students at Wageningen University, our teachers and leaders introduced the BUA's talent policy to them, and welcomed outstanding talents to go back to China after completing their studies and develop their career in BUA. The delegation also visited and expressed their regards to the students of BUA currently studying at Wageningen University & Research, and presented the flag to the newly established Overseas Alumni Association.
The members of the delegation also included Professor Liu Ming from the College of Animal Science and Technology, Professor Li Huchen from the College of Plant Science and Technology, and Associate Professor Yu Baoyi from the College of Bioscience and Resource Environment.
