The Athletics Competition of the 17^th Beijing Municipal Games (University Group) & the 64^th Capital University Students Athletics Games officially kicked off at 8:00 AM on May 14. Athletes from BUA strove for excellence and achieved impressive results on the opening day. For his outstanding performance, Wang Zihao from the College of Bioscience and Resources Environment won the gold medal in the Men's Hammer Throw (Group B), securing the first gold medal for BUA in the competition. Xu Shunfan from the College of Food Science and Engineering took the silver medal in the same event, while Li Xinbo, also from the College of Bioscience and Resources Environment, placed fourth. Zhao Feng, Chairman of the University Council, presented awards to the athletes, and encouraged them to aim for even greater success and thus show the vitality and high spirits of BUA students.
