On the afternoon of October 16, Duan Liusheng, president of the university, met with a delegation from Edith Cowan University (ECU) led by Helen Vella Bonavita, dean of international relations, and Stacey Reinke, executive dean of the School of Science. The two sides discussed ways to deepen their Sino-foreign cooperative education programs and expand their collaboration into new areas. Wu Yan, vice president of the university, as well as representatives from the College of International Education and the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, attended the meeting.

Duan welcomed the ECU delegation on behalf of BUA. He noted that, as BUA approaches its 70th anniversary, the delegation's visit reflects ECU's strong commitment to the partnership between the two universities and the close ties they have built over the years. Since signing a cooperation agreement in 2008 and enrolling their first students in 2012, the two universities have steadily expanded their partnership, moving from the initial development of cooperative programs to deeper collaboration in Sino-foreign cooperative education. Together, they have educated successive cohorts of outstanding students with strong professional expertise and a global perspective. Many graduates have gone on to successful careers in fields including environmental protection and agriculture, demonstrating the lasting impact of the partnership. Duan said that the two universities are actively working to deepen and expand their existing Sino-foreign cooperative education programs. He expressed the hope that the meeting would provide an opportunity to further strengthen cooperation in talent development, academic exchange, and research collaboration, explore new areas of partnership, and enhance the international dimension of education at both universities.
Helen Vella Bonavita thanked BUA for its warm hospitality and reviewed the history of cooperation between the two universities. She said that ECU places great value on its 14-year partnership with BUA and looks forward to expanding collaboration into new areas. She expressed the hope that the two universities would continue to strengthen their close ties, build on their longstanding partnership, and further advance their cooperation in Sino-foreign cooperative education.

The meeting further strengthened the ties between the two universities and laid a solid foundation for deeper collaboration. Both sides agreed to continue working toward shared goals and further advance their partnership through close cooperation.
