BUA’s 2024 Undergraduate Talent Cultivation Plan Report Meeting Is Convened

On December 14, BUA convened the 2024 Undergraduate Talent Cultivation Plan Report Meeting & Teaching Guidance Committee Meeting to thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinpings important statements about education and the guiding principle of the National Education Work Conference, advance the undergraduate education and teaching reform, and further improve the quality of talent cultivation. Duan Liusheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of BUA, attended and addressed the meeting, and Wu Yan, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of BUA, chaired the event.

Duan Liusheng fully affirmed the earlier revisions to the 2024 Cultivation Plan by various specialties. He noted that the Undergraduate Talent Cultivation Plan shall actively align with national standards and the demands for talents arising from industrial development as well as the economic and social advancement of Beijing, comprehensively practice the OBE teaching philosophy, refine discipline and specialty arrangements, and facilitate course module planning and building with the aim to enhance education and teaching quality and boost international exchange and cooperation.

Wu Yan emphasized the need to focus on national development strategies, particularly Beijings development strategies, take a more prospective approach in the revision to the Talent Cultivation Plan, advance classroom reform, strengthen the mechanism for joint course building and sharing, further broaden the global vision of both teachers and students, and improve the quality of the faculty team.

Ma Lanqing, Head of the Teaching Affairs Department, arranged the revision work for the next step. Deans of various secondary schools delivered reports and exchanged ideas about the revision to the Cultivation Plan. BUAs Teaching Guidance Committee and undergraduate teaching supervisors provided opinions and suggestions.
