Introduction
Since its establishment in 2003, theCollege of InternationalEducationof Beijing University of Agriculture has been committed to international cooperation in higher education, striving to explore and utilize high-quality foreign educational resources. Against the backdrop of increasing economic globalization, it keeps pace with the development of global higher education, advocates cross-cultural education, and has successfully built an international platform and environment for talent training. It has established various cooperative partnerships with universities in the United Kingdom, Australia, the United States and other countries. Approved by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission and national competent authorities, the International College currently runs"3+1" Sino-foreign cooperative education programswith two foreign universities across three majors.
In 2003, Beijing University of Agriculture launched joint undergraduate programs withHarper Adams University (UK)in two majors:
·International Economics and Trade (International Business Management)
·Food Science and Engineering (Food Quality and Retail Management)
Adopting Harper Adams University’s teaching system and quality assurance framework, all major courses are delivered in English. Under the"3+1" model, students study in China for three years and in the UK for the fourth year. Graduates are awarded:
·Graduation certificate and bachelor’s degree from Beijing University of Agriculture
·Bachelor’s degree from Harper Adams University (UK)
By December 2025:
·International Economics and Trade: 19 cohorts, 619 graduates;72% admitted to postgraduate programsin China, UK, USA, Australia, Canada, etc.;64% enrolled in QS World Top 100 universities.
·Food Science and Engineering: 19 cohorts, 577 graduates;74% pursue further study abroad;54% admitted to QS World Top 100 universities.
In June 2012, Beijing University of Agriculture launched a joint undergraduate program withEdith Cowan University (Australia)inAgricultural Resources and Environment (Environmental Management). Following the"3+1" structure(3 years in China, 1 year in Australia), graduates receive dual degrees from both universities.
By December 2025:
·Agricultural Resources and Environment: 10 cohorts, 321 graduates;over 69% pursue master’s degrees overseas.
·In 2025,18 graduates entered QS World Top 100 universities, accounting for95% of overseas postgraduate enrollments.
Through years of Sino-foreign cooperative education, the International College has fully aligned its educational philosophy, models, curricula, management and faculty with international standards. It has built a bilingual teaching team of full-time and part-time Chinese and foreign educators with overseas academic backgrounds, proficient in English instruction, and familiar with international teaching systems and disciplinary advances.
The college regards teaching quality as the lifeline and adheres to astudent-centered approach. Its international education equips students with professional knowledge and skills while enhancing their competitiveness in global settings.
