On September 20–24, at the invitation of Harper Adams University in the UK, Wu Yan, Vice President of BUA, visited Harper Adams University together with heads of the Office of Graduate Studies and the College of Food Science and Engineering. They attended the graduation ceremony for the students of BUA-HAU Cooperative Education Program on September 22.
It is learned that 2023 marks the 20th anniversary of the cooperative education program launched between BUA and HAU. Over the last two decades, they have jointly cultivated more than 1,000 students. In 2023, BUA saw 69 students graduating from its Sino-UK Cooperative Education Program, 11 of whom received first-class honors from Harper Adams University. Addressing the graduation ceremony, Wu Yan congratulated the students on successfully completing all the courses with excellent academic results, and expressed her hope that they would grow into high-caliber talents with a global vision, an innovative spirit, and a strong sense of social responsibility and realize a brilliant life through diligence and perseverance.
During the visit, Wu Yan had a meeting with Ken Sloan, Vice Chancellor of Harper Adams University. Both sides fully affirmed the fruitful results of their cooperative education achieved in the last two decades, and expected deeper cooperation in the days to come. Wu Yan also introduced “Quality-Oriented School Building Program”, expressing the hope that both sides would strengthen their cooperation and make joint efforts to further boost the quality of cooperative education and talent cultivation and contribute to the high-quality development of both universities.
The delegation led by Wu Yan also had meetings with the representative in charge of teaching and scientific research departments at Harper Adams University during the visit, in which they learnt about the progress of teaching and scientific research at Harper Adams University. They also visited the freshmen of BUA studying in the UK. Professor Tan Feng from the International College of BUA attended relevant activities and symposiums.
