The Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange and the Study in Greece recently held the Sino-Hellenic Higher Education Workshop and Study in China Seminar at the University of West Attica, Athens, Greece. Xiao Junzheng, Chinese Ambassador to Greece, and Domna Maria Michailidou, Deputy Minister of Education and Religious Affairs of Greece, attended the event and exchanged ideas with representatives from Chinese higher institutes. Also present at the event were representatives from 24 Chinese higher institutes, including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Capital Medical University, and Beijing University of Agriculture (“BUA”), and those from 15 Greek higher institutes, including the University of Athens and the Agricultural University of Athens. Zhong Congsheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of BUA, also participated in the event together with relevant persons in charge from the International Exchange and Cooperation Office and the College of Bioscience and Resources Environment, and they engaged in in-depth exchanges and talks about cooperation with representatives from Greek higher institutes.

After the event, as part of the delegation of Chinese higher institutes, the BUA team led by Zhong Congsheng visited the University of Athens and attended a symposium with the latter. Speaking as a representative of Chinese higher institutes, Zhong Congsheng introduced the profile and educational characteristics of BUA, as well as its achievements in terms of talent cultivation, scientific research, and Sino-foreign cooperative education. He suggested that bilateral exchanges and cooperation need to be further strengthened to make greater contribution to the education of high-caliber talents.

The delegation also participated in the International Education Exhibition in Münster hosted by Germany-based IfT Institut für Talententwicklung GmbH. At the exhibition, they introduced the educational characteristics of BUA, promoted the “Study in BUA” program, had exchanges with participating Chinese and Germany higher institutes, learned from their international educational experience and practice, and reached initial intent of cooperation on Sino-foreign joint cultivation of high-caliber talents.
