Team Led by AFU Vice President Visits BUA

On the morning of June 7, a team led by Punya Prasad Regmi, Vice President of the Agriculture and Forestry University of Nepal (AFU), visited BUA. Duan Liusheng, President of BUA, met the guests, and both sides exchanged views on further cooperation. Also present at the meeting were Wu Yan, Vice President of BUA, Yang Baodong, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, and Qi Xiaolong, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Office.

 

Duan Liusheng, on behalf of BUA, extended warm welcome to the team led by Punya Prasad Regmi, and introduced BUA’s efforts in talent cultivation, discipline building, and international exchanges and cooperation. He said, "BUA has always committed to an open approach in education and actively carried out dialogues and exchanges with worldwide partners, hoping that both universities will conduct extensive cooperation on talent cultivation, academic research and cultural exchanges, so as to jointly push the innovative and prosperous development of higher education, science and technology in both China and Nepal".

 

Punya Prasad Regmi outlined AFU’s history, academic features and efforts in exchanges and cooperation, particularly with China. He said, "China and Nepal have long-standing friendship", and expected that "AFU will carry out cooperation with BUA on joint student cultivation and scientific research, among other areas, in the days to come".

 

 

The team also visited BUA's University Science Park, key laboratories and intelligent greenhouses.

Founded in 2010, AFU is the first university of agricultural science and technology in Nepal. Currently, it provides undergraduate, master and doctoral programs related to agricultural science, animal science, animal medicine, forestry and management of agricultural enterprise.
